Rapidly growing multiple location construction company is looking for an experienced Human Resources Specialist for our Magna office. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of HR support and advice, including assisting with employee relations, onboarding and offboarding of employees, performance management, benefits administration, policy implementation and HR best practices. The successful candidate will improve upon existing practices and establish new key HR processes and controls under the supervision of senior management. 


  Job Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll
  • Prepare weekly payroll reports
  • Answer general questions in relation to; policies, paychecks and benefits
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new hires and terminated employees 
  • Help to administer the hourly compensation program
  • Assist employees as needed with benefits and open enrollment
  • Identify ways to improve policies and procedures
  • Administer employee policies with senior management
  • Maintain employee files
  • Manage safety incident reports
  • Work closely with management team to improve working relationships, build morale, instill trust and increase productivity and retention

  

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 - 2 years of related Human Resource experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of hiring processes
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a positive and motivational team player
  • Familiarity with Office 365
